Psychological Service of the Central Mine Rescue Station was created, in accordance with § 52 par. 3a Ordinance of the Energy Minister, dated March 16th 2017, on mining rescue (Dz.U.2017.1052), in order to create a system providing psychological assistance to rescuers participating in rescue operations and victims. The tasks envisaged are carried out at the headquarters of the Central Mine Rescue Station and the District Mine Rescue Stations, and if necessary at the site of the rescue operation. The purpose of psychological interventions is to minimize the negative effects of participation in potentially traumatogenic situations and to prevent the development of post-traumatic stress disorder in the rescuers and the injured. Current activities of the department include work related to psychoeducation, training and the mental health prophylaxis.
